Jasmine and Anthony are at the library looking for a book to use for their english assignment. Their assignment is to find a book to read and analyze, also writing a summary about it. They have been paired up for this assignment by their teacher, Ms. Fitz, considering that they normally would never choose to work together on a project anymore. Jasmine and Anthony are exes that have gone through a bad breakup and are currently, “acquatinces”

Jasmine eagerly runs to the romance section; Anthony follows; Jasmine gestures her hand toward the romance section.
Jasmine: (in a whiny voice) It must be
Subtext: This is one of my favorite genres. I wonder if he still remembers that…

Anthony: (frowns) Really?
Subtext: She loves to read books that are romantic. I remember every single little thing about her.

Jasmine completely ignores him and continues to look for a book in the romance section
Jasmine: (searches the bookshelf for a book) I wonder…
Subtext: I’ll just pretend like I didn’t hear that. Gosh he’s such an idiot. He really doesn’t remember or really care about me. Maybe the rumors were true after all…

Anthony: (glances to the left where the mystery section is located) You don’t suppose---
Subtext- I really do not want to read any romance books

Jasmine cuts him off
Jasmine: I’ve got one! (pulls a book out by the title “A little bit of romance”)
Subtext: This one looks interesting

Anthony searches the bookshelf and finds a book too
Anthony: And then of course (finds a book with the title “What about us?”)
Subtext: This book is sooo her type. She’s going to love it.

Jasmine: Better still! (Snatches book from Anthony)
Subtext: I actually like the book that he picked out for me. Did he pick it out purposely or accidentally? Maybe he does still remember me…and care about me.

They’re both looking through the book
Anthony: (laughs) You are---
Subtext: Her name is in this book, how funny.

Jasmine: (frowns and puts her hand up) Don’t!
Subtext: Of course that idiot would notice that. But Oh! His name is in the book too…

They both read the summary of the book. The story is about a girl and a boy named Jasmine and Anthony. Rumors of Anthony cheating start to conflict their wonderful relationship, causing Jasmine to end it. After this, they struggle to reconstruct their love and realize that they are truly meant for each other and that they should really trust in only themselves.

Anthony: (In a shocked tone) Oh (looks at Jasmine)
Subtext: I never cheated on her. I love her with all my heart.

Jasmine: (In a shocked and confused tone) Oh
Subtext: Can things go back to normal? Can we be together again?
(Jasmine looks at Anthony; they both smile)
Subtext: Maybe Kathy was wrong after all
