Man: George
Woman: Mary
Location: Chuckie Cheese
Time: 10 AM
Mary looked up as she approached Chuckie Cheese. She repeated in her mind, it’s just a birthday party, do it for Sammie. It was 10 in the morning and she was flustered with how today would be. The elevator was going down and she was waiting.
George was looking for a parking spot after dropping Mary off the entrance. They drove in silence to Chuckie Cheese and the only sound that accompanied them was the radio. She opened the door and walked out. After closing the door, he stopped to see her walk away. His heart fell, looking at her. The movement of her hips would always make him lose his breath.
As he looked for the parking spot, he passed by a restaurant called, Cafetasia. She worked there as a chef a while back and he fell in love with her famous dish. He asked the waitress if he could see the chef who made this dish. After waiting for the chef to come out, there was a woman standing by him.
“You called for me?” said the chef.
All he could do is stare at her ocean blue eyes. Her hair was tied in a bun and he suddenly wanted to see how her hair looked like down. He dated many girls, but no one captivated him like her.
“Are you okay?” she began to panic.
He shook his head, “I’m sorry, it’s just you’re really beautiful.”
She rolled her eyes and said, “Thanks, now I have to cook my customers meals and I hope you enjoy your lunch.”
He shocked her by waiting for her after her day was done. He stood by the door with a white rose.
“I normally don’t do this, but this is for you. I’m George, and you?” He said.
“I’m…. Mary.”
Passing by the restaurant, all George could think about is how after 15 years of marriage, she could no longer wanted to be married to him. George worked in international affairs, he helped out with children in third world countries. There was a scandal about him having an affair with one of the celebrities in India.
The phone call struck him that night.
“Is this true George?! I’m looking at newspaper. Tell me this is not true.”
She cried and wouldn’t let him explain.
“We’re getting a divorce, it’s final. Out of the 15 years in marriage, I can’t believe you would do such a thing,” yelled Mary.
Entering Chuckie Cheese, he saw their daughter Sammie. She was turning 8, and she looked so much like her mother. Across the room, he saw her. She was talking to her friend as he played with Sammie. He looked at her hand and saw no ring.
